People are often surprised when I ask for their birth information before a hypnotherapy session.
Incorporating astrology and hypnotherapy can lead to profound insights.
They assume we’re going to spend the entire session talking about astrology. We don’t.
In fact, many clients are surprised by how little time we spend discussing their chart. What I am looking for in combining astrology and hypnotherapy is insight.
This unique blend of astrology and hypnotherapy allows for deeper exploration of one’s inner world.
For nearly sixty years, astrology has been one of the tools I use to understand people more deeply. Long before computers could generate charts in seconds, I was sitting at my kitchen table with an ephemeris, logarithms, and a ruler, painstakingly constructing charts by hand. It often took two hours to create a single chart.
Throughout my journey, astrology and hypnotherapy have played crucial roles in understanding human behavior.
What fascinated me then still fascinates me now. What was a youthful hobby has proven to be powerfully productive in my private sessions.
Astrology Reveals Patterns
Astrology and hypnotherapy reveal underlying patterns that may not be immediately visible.
It offers clues about how a person thinks, communicates, processes emotions, approaches relationships, handles challenges, and experiences the world around them.
When combined with hypnotherapy, those clues can help us reach the heart of an issue much more quickly.
Utilizing astrology and hypnotherapy together accelerates the healing process.
Looking Beneath the Surface
One of the things I love about hypnotherapy is that it takes us beneath the stories people tell themselves.
We all have explanations for why we’re struggling.
- We know what happened.
- We know who said what.
- We know why we’re upset.
But the subconscious mind often reveals a deeper story.
Astrology helps point us in the right direction.
This insight is amplified when we use astrology and hypnotherapy in tandem.
A birth chart doesn’t tell me exactly what happened in your life. It doesn’t predict every choice you’ll make. What it does reveal are tendencies, strengths, challenges, and recurring themes that may be operating behind the scenes.
When I combine that information with hypnotherapy, remarkable things often emerge.
Tom’s Story
Tom’s journey with astrology and hypnotherapy illustrates the transformative potential of this combination.
Tom came to see me because he felt overwhelmed by stress.
His work was demanding. His home life felt strained. He described himself as trapped and exhausted. Like many people in midlife, he was beginning to question whether he could continue living the way he had for so many years.
Before our session, I reviewed his chart.
One particular pattern immediately caught my attention.
His chart suggested an ongoing struggle between structure and freedom, responsibility and spontaneity, caution and exploration. It appeared that much of his mental energy was devoted to balancing these competing forces.
When I explained this to Tom, he shrugged it off. He didn’t see it as particularly important and preferred to focus on his daily stresses.
Then We Began the Hypnotherapy Session
Within minutes, his subconscious mind brought us directly to conflicts involving his children.
As we explored further, he described his constant worry that they would make mistakes, take risks, or get hurt if he wasn’t closely monitoring their choices. He felt responsible for everything.
At the same time, he recognized that his children needed freedom to grow, learn, and discover life for themselves.
Suddenly, the deeper issue became obvious. The very pattern reflected in his astrology chart was playing out in his family relationships.
His realization exemplified how astrology and hypnotherapy can unveil hidden truths.
His challenge wasn’t simply stress. It was learning how to balance responsibility with trust.
Protection with freedom. Structure with growth.
As we worked through the issue, Tom began to see new possibilities. He recognized that mistakes are often part of learning and that his role as a father wasn’t to eliminate every risk from his children’s lives.
It was to help them develop the wisdom to navigate life on their own.
By the end of the session, he had a completely different perspective.
The astrology identified the pattern.
The hypnotherapy helped transform the behavior.
Why I Continue to Use Astrology
This is why I advocate for the integration of astrology and hypnotherapy in personal development.
Over the decades, I’ve found that astrology and hypnotherapy complement one another beautifully.
Astrology provides context. Hypnotherapy provides access.
Astrology and hypnotherapy together create a holistic approach to self-discovery.
The chart may reveal where tension exists, while the subconscious mind reveals how that tension is showing up in real life.
Together, they create a richer understanding of what a person is experiencing and why they may be experiencing it now.
I often compare the process to looking at two maps of the same territory.
One map shows the pattern of the landscape. The other shows the lived experience of the journey.
Neither is complete by itself. Together, they help us find our way.
The Goal Is Self-Understanding
Whether you have a deep interest in astrology or know almost nothing about it, the goal is not to place you in a box or define you by your chart.
The goal is self-understanding.
When we understand our patterns, we gain the ability to make different choices.
We stop reacting automatically. We become more conscious, more intentional, more authentic.
Over the years, I’ve watched clients gain profound insights through the combination of astrology and hypnotherapy. Sometimes the chart confirms what they already know. Sometimes it reveals a blind spot they have never considered. Either way, it often opens the door to deeper healing and transformation.
Clients often express how astrology and hypnotherapy have opened new pathways for growth.
And ultimately, that is why I continue to use both.
Not because astrology predicts your future, but because understanding yourself empowers you to create it.
